Toronto Wedding Photography | Samantha+Michael | Woodbridge, Vaughan | Bellvue Manor

Samantha and Michael were an absolute pleasure to photograph. It was only two weeks before their wedding that we did the engagement session so the engagement and wedding felt like one big awesome shoot.

The groomsmen got ready at Michael’s parents house up in Bolton and Samantha got ready at her parents’ house in Stouffville. So I split up the team as usual and sent Christian to capture the guys getting ready as I concentrated on Samantha and her family. Both Samantha and Michael looked absolutely stunning and were glowing with love and happiness for one another.

The ceremony took place at the St. Patrick’s Church in Brampton, a church that is especially dear to Michael’s family since they have been attending it for years.

After the ceremony we headed over to Michael’s parents gorgeous home for a wonderful catered lunch. We also had a chance to take some fantastic shots at the residence before heading to Bellvue Manor in Vaughan.

During the evening, guests were entertained not once but twice by the stunning girls of Samba Brasil Entertainment. I too found this part to be very entertaining :-)

The evening wrapped out with a cake cutting and, off course, the bouquet and garter toss.

Samantha and Michael: Both of us had an absolutely wonderful time capturing your wedding and thank you for allowing us to share this day with the both of you. Once again congratulations and wish you all the best!

Francine+Nick | North York Wedding | Montecassino Hotel & Event Venue

Francine and Nick’s wedding was a blast to shoot. Yes, it was rainy, and yes it was humid, but that didn’t stop anyone from having a lot of fun. Both Francine and Nick embraced the weather and came fully prepared for a tarantula downpour (that luckily didn’t happen) They had matching umbrellas, rain boots and most importantly lots of laughs and energy.

One amazing thing was that the priest, Father Paul, who’s been conducting the sacrament of marriage for over 27 years, said that it has never rained during or 30 minutes after any of his ceremonies. He even reassured both Nick and Francine by opening the church’s side doors during the ceremony :-).

We chose Dempsey Park to do our “photo shoot”. The park is located adjacent to St. Edwards Church in North York. Francine lives really close to that park and has walked through it’s paths on a number of occasions, so it made perfect sense to use it as our backdrop. Another nice thing that the park offered besides the grass and trees was an old brick house with a fantastic green porch surrounding it. The porch came in hand because of the rain, but it also allowed us to take some “urban” photography giving Francine and Nick a great variety of images.

The reception was held at the fabulous Montecassino Hotel & Event Venue in Downsview. I loved the large hardwood dance floor, beautiful high ceilings and ample space for the 300 guests in attendance. The veal chop, salads, and various pastries were all absolutely fantastic as well.

A big congratulations to the both of you Francine and Nick. Thank You for allowing us to share this day with you.

Hope you enjoy…. don’t be shy, leave a comment and share with your friends :-)

Viola+Oreste – Toronto Wedding | University of Toronto | Mastro’s Risorante italiano

We started 2011 with a big bang. 2 weddings on the first weekend of the New Year! Since it’s impossible to be in two places at one time Marek and I split up. Marek captured Viola and Oreste’s Wedding with fellow photographer Jimmy and I photographed Terra and Ian’s Wedding with Sonya (more on that wedding in the next post). Here’s a video we shot from their engagement.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful Music Room at the UofT in downtown Toronto. The stunning architecture really allowed the team to capture some creative and memorable images. The outside courtyard offered beautiful light and at the same time, lots of cold :-) so the photo session was wrapped up quickly.

The reception took place at the family owned Italian restaurant, Mastro’s Ristorante Italiano. Many guests flew in from Italy so I’m sure everyone felt right at home there. The wedding cake was certaily unique and definitely fit the winter wedding theme.

The kitchen was kept quite busy, I guess a 7 course dinner will make that happen.

Everyone enjoyed the fresh Lobster.

No wedding can go without wine, and wine there was, but what wine is the real question. Oreste’s father, Elio did something truly spectacular and special. He purchased 50 cases of wine when Oreste was born in 1979, with the intention of drinking it at the wedding. The guests were spoiled with the 32 year old wine rumoured to sell at over $4,500 a bottle :-).

A big congratulations to both Viola and Oreste. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day.
